How I Used Up Money

All those people thinking that money doesn’t bring happiness is because they possess money themselves. Like famous people you see on television living there glamorous lives leading as role models to others. For regular folks money isn’t an easy access to get to most people has to struggle to make ends meet. The market is bad right now it’s going to take number amount of time to get it back on track. People as whole should start saving their income in case of a crisis should god forbid happen. If you must want to spend your income at least spend it on useful items or if not spend little by little. Usually some people who live in poverty exercise in limiting their spending. I mean, their apartment needs to be paid not to mention food and clothes live off from. That type of lifestyle must be really hard to go through you got to have really strong mind and lots of support to go through something like that. As a kid my parents used to give me allowances but each time I would get money I just blow it away. I’d blow it away on arcade games, useless games, giving it away to pretty girls and not getting any play in return and when I needed to buy something my money ran out. I just want to be like everybody else I didn’t want to stand out I wanted to be cool but it wasn’t making me feel any better. So I learned my lesson now I’m starting to save my money.

Are You Free?

No, I am not free, because the bills have to be paid! Remember the rule: There is no free lunch. So freedom is a different kind of subject, one that involves individual thought and desires. Who do you want to be? How do you want to live? What do you like to do?

We are unique and separate from all others. No one can crawl inside you and know you, just as you will never really know another. We fall in love and bond, marry and get used to each other. Someone wrote that a couple who has been together for a decade grows closer because each one adapts to the other’s ways, thus, they become one. I can disagree with that for my own personal experience, but that’s another tale. In truth, a couple must share with each other all aspects of who they are, what they want, and how they live. Agreeing on decisions for long term goals and working together toward them will create a relationship that is rock solid. The basis of this premise depends on communications.

This is the freedom: discover who you are, then choose what you want to change and commit to changing it! As you are the only one in charge of your desires and decisions about what you like and dislike, you are responsible for your personality, your health, your social life, your career, your finances, and politics. YOU make those choices and become who you want to be. Just remember that it’s easier to slide backwards than to get ahead, because the nature of man began in the Garden of Eden where everything was chillin’! In our era we must work hard to maintain status quo, but that includes reaching the goals.

Baby Tips

If your baby doesn’t sleep at night you can check these possible issues:
- Is she breastfed or is getting a bottle? If she takes a bottle, she might be missing your breast, which means you as a whole.
- Does she have stomach ache? Try soft massages like Shantala and the Butterfly Touch. You must learn first how do to it and choose a quiet moment and place to try it out.
- Is your home in peace? Babies feel the tension in the air.
- Are you scared? If you are, imagine how your baby is feeling once she depends entirely on you!
- Is the house noisy? Is the baby’s room dark and quiet? The eyes only rest in the dark. And a baby needs silence around, her sensitivity is much higher that the adults’.
- Is the baby able to go out during the day? It’s important to get out of the house once a day. It relaxes and promotes a good sleep.
- Are you happy? A happy mother makes a happy baby. There is no way to hide real feelings from a baby.
The most effective and healthier pacifier is your breast.

The Sixties

Life in the sixties was grand! I graduated in 1964 and went on to build my life with enthusiasm and pride. My generation was brought up to believe in American tradition, that we could accomplish anything we wanted to do. Our lifestyle in that small town was filled with patriotic tradition, and many of my classmates enlisted to serve in Vietnam.

Now I am living the sixties again, at age 63! My lifestyle has always been enthusiastic, and filled with faith. I chose to live well, not extravagant, and to help others whenever that need crossed my path. Today, that same lifestyle reigns! Having learned that the mountains in the path turn into bumps in the road, this economic disaster in our country is just temporary, and will become a bump!

Having a solid income is the basis for any lifestyle. That income determines the level of lifestyle, but regardless of the income per month, everyone has an opportunity to better themselves, and build for the future. My children chose college, although my financial help wasn’t possible. I did whatever to help them, babysit, host family dinners, and co-sign for loans. They learned how to set goals and reach them, beginning in early childhood. It was important to me that they leave the nest knowing I was their biggest cheerleader! However, their lives depended on what they did, what they chose, and how they lived. As they grew into adulthood, parenting, and careers, my reward was getting those phone calls with progress reports on their goals.

Now my lifestyle is a little different, because the family has grown, and no more fledglings lean on me. Freedom, yes. Pride, yes. My time is more easily managed and my growing continues. We learn every day of our lives, and remember always the path we chose is filled with goals that we set and reach!

Cloned Meat from Your Store -Are you eating cloned meat?-

Doesn’t that scare you just a little bit? A cloned Big Mac!

A common practice … the FDA doesn’t require labeling of cloned meat which could result in hidden food safety problems!

Quite common are birth defects in clones found to produce unhealthy animals who suffer tremendously, die young, and commonly need antibiotics, have differences in the composition of the milk and meat and are not always exact duplicates of their gene donors. Clearly, cloning remains an unpredictable science.

The FDA approved cloned livestock food without completely knowing all of the risks involved. They don’t exactly have a good track record…just look at all the drug recalls over the last decade.

So when choosing meat for your next meal, consider the following two options:

• Naturally raised cattle in an open field free to roam and feast on their natural diet of grass,

Or

• Meat developed in a scientific experiment that has not been properly researched, fed an unnatural diet of grain and given massive doses of antibiotics.

Mad Cow Disease anyone?

A vegetarian diet sounds better all the time.

Farm Auction

Dad passed away almost 2 years ago, Mom is in the nursing home and has dementia. So sale of the farm machinery was not a difficult decision but the process of getting things ready was quite a challenge. Dad had mentioned selling the farm stuff 6 to 8 months before he passed away but had decided it was too big a chore. But we (with the very generous help of the neighbors, could not have done it without them) put stuff on hay racks, took recyclables to the dump, lined up the farm machinery in the yard, and sorted thru 3 generations of miscellaneous stuff not knowing what some of it was in our attempt to get things in order for the auctioneer. Sale day came. It was a long day. We were surprised by what caught the buyer’s eye. It was good to have so much of the stuff removed by someone else. Now time marches on and we are trying to take care of business as best we can.

Joke for Your Health???

Jokes. What are they? According to the dictionary a joke is “something said or done to evoke laughs or amusement, esp. an amusing story with a punch line.” Or can be a mischievous trick or prank. They are used to make people laugh. If done with a sense of innocence it can be a lot of fun. They can be used to cheer people up to help someone get over a bad situation.
Today many doctors recommend laughter as medicine. Joking around can help people cope with serious situations. It helps people laugh at themselves at times so that it doesn’t become overwhelming. I am not saying to laugh at you or anyone else, but at a situation so that it doesn’t look so sad.
When a person is hit with many situations at once that are out of their control, this can cause severe depression. Then if a friend knows how to joke around this can help conquer the depression. A really good laugh releases endorphins into the body which is what is needed. Endorphins are natural chemicals in the body that make you feel good. Jokes can be some of the best medicine today if done in a proper fashion. I highly recommend a really good laugh at east daily.

Life in General

Anybody can cope with life when everything is going good, but what happens when life goes bad, and turns ugly? Do we throw in the towel and call it quits?

It has been said that life is like the stock market–you must stick with it through the highs and the lows. So, how does one do it when the bottom falls out and we come crashing down?

First, sit down and take a deep breath and remember this–your thoughts control your feelings. How you deal with your crisis is your responsibility. You MUST have control of your feelings. Say to yourself “storms in life come and go. I will survive this one. I will be grateful for the blessings I have.” (Then list them).

Second, start to problem solve. What can I do to get out of this dilemma? What caused it? Sometimes it is just time that is the healing factor if the crisis involves a divorce or death.

Thirdly, try to find others dealing with the same problems and ask them how they are dealing with their problems.

Remember, coping with life is all in the attitude–when life hands you a lemon, you must make lemonade.

Vacationing Nightmare

When you go on vacation you have to expect the unexpected. This I have now learned after our recent vacation this year. Leaving out of Kansas City headed to Florida, nothing but the sun ahead of us. We load up the family (three boys, my husband, and myself). Looking forward to a twenty hour drive I became excited. Driving straight through headed through Tennessee at four in the morning we hit some bad luck, a blown tire. So four hours later and a hundred and fifty dollars we were back on the road. Besides the kids whining in the back seat the drive had been fairly pleasant. Hours later we are going through Atlanta on Christmas Eve we began to hit more bad luck. The car began to overheat. I was in the furthest lane of a six lane freeway and couldn’t get out of traffic in time. We slept in the car through the night till the next morning we had blown a head gasket. We decided to leave the car behind and our friend came and got us. Needless to say by the time that we got there our vacation felt more like a nightmare but we still enjoyed Christmas on the beach!
